Tips for using this page
- Name the rows after how your days are actually divided. Shift workers might use Before shift, Shift and After; a parent working from home might use the school run as the dividing line. Clock times such as 09:00 work too.
- Fewer rows give taller boxes. Three blocks leave space for several lines of handwriting per day, while eight blocks turn the page into something close to a timetable.
- Put appointments with a fixed time in first, then fit the movable work around them. An empty box is useful information: it shows where there is still room.
- Choose Monday to Friday if the weekend does not need planning. The five columns are noticeably wider than seven on the same sheet.
- The carry-over line at the bottom is for the one or two things that did not happen. Copy them to next week's sheet before you throw this one away.
- Type the main thing for the week only if there is one. A planner with a single clear priority at the foot is easier to act on than one with seven.
Questions
Is there an hourly version?
Type hours as the row names, for example 08:00, 10:00, 12:00 and so on. Up to eight rows fit, so two-hour steps cover a working day.
Are the dates printed on the page?
No. The planner is undated so the same settings work every week. Write the date of the first day on the Week of line.
Can I plan only the working week?
Yes. Pick Monday to Friday, or Monday to Saturday if you work six days.
How is this different from the class timetable?
The timetable has numbered periods with a column for their start times and is printed once per term. This planner is rewritten every week.
