Savings goal tracker
A page of numbered boxes that stand for equal steps towards one goal. Each time you put a step's worth of money aside, colour in the next box.

The preview is scaled to fit your screen and prints at full size on one page. In the print dialog choose your printer or Save as PDF, and set scale to 100%. Nothing you type leaves this browser.
Tips for using this page
- Work out the size of one box yourself: divide the amount you are aiming for by the number of boxes you picked, and type the result in the field so it prints at the top. The page does not do this sum, and it does not suggest how much to save.
- Choose the number of boxes by how often you expect to put money aside. A box per month for a goal two and a half years away is 30 boxes; a box per week for a goal five months away is about 20.
- The boxes are always numbered, so the highest coloured number multiplied by the value of one box is the total so far. That is the only arithmetic the page asks of you.
- Colour a box only when the money has actually been moved, not when you intend to move it. The sheet is then a record you can check against a statement.
- Use one sheet per goal. Two goals on one page blur which box belongs to which, and printing a second sheet costs nothing.
- Write the start date on the line at the bottom on the first day and the end date when the last box is filled.
Questions
Does the tracker tell me how much to save?
No. It prints the goal and the step size exactly as you type them. How much to save, and where to keep it, are your own decisions; the site gives no financial advice.
Can I type a currency sign?
Yes. The amount fields are plain text, so 20, $20, 20 EUR or any other wording of up to 20 characters prints as typed.
Can I use it for paying something off?
Yes. Change the title, and let each box stand for one payment made. The layout does not change.
Why is 40 the largest number of boxes?
Forty boxes make five rows of eight that still leave each box large enough to colour and to read its number on one portrait page.
