Tips for using this page
- Use this chart for one thing only. If you want to follow several habits at once, the monthly habit tracker has a row for each; this page is deliberately a single countdown.
- With 14 or 21 days the spaces are laid out seven to a row, so each row is one week from the day you start. With 30 days there are six to a row and five rows.
- Change the title when you change the length. The title field is free text, so 21 days of sketching or Two weeks without takeaway coffee both fit.
- Write the start date on the line at the top by hand. The numbers on the spaces are day counts, not calendar dates, so the chart can begin on any day of the month.
- Decide in advance what a missed day means: carry on with the next number, or repeat the number. Either rule works as long as it is chosen before day one.
- The spaces are big enough for a word or a figure, so you can note minutes, pages or distance in a space instead of only crossing it out.
Questions
Why 14, 21 and 30 days and not any number?
Those three lengths fill a portrait page in even rows with large spaces. For a calendar month of 28 to 31 days with several habits, use the monthly habit tracker.
Can I turn the numbers off?
Yes. Without numbers the page is a plain field of shapes, which suits stickers or colouring the spaces in any order.
Is there a list of challenge ideas?
No. The page is blank on purpose: you type your own challenge and it is printed at the top of the sheet.
Does it print the same on A4 and US Letter?
The layout is the same and the spaces are resized to the paper you choose, so the chart fills one sheet of either size.
