Tips for using this page
- Name the sections after the layout of the store you actually use and put them in walking order. A list that follows the aisles means you pass each shelf once.
- Every section has the same number of lines. If one section always overflows, split it in two, for example Fruit and Vegetables, and merge two that are usually short.
- Each section has five lines, so three sections hold fifteen items. For a big shop, print two sheets with different section names, for example one for fresh food and one for everything else.
- Pin the page to the fridge at the start of the week and add items as they run out. By shopping day the list is mostly written.
- Write the number or the weight on the same line as the item, for example onions x 6, and tick the box at the end of the line once it is in the trolley.
- If you plan meals for the week, fill the list in with the meal planner beside you, one dish at a time, then check the cupboards before leaving.
Questions
Can I type the items before printing?
The item lines are blank for handwriting, because a grocery list changes every week. The section names, the title and the store line are typed.
How many sections can a page have?
Up to three, with five item lines each. That is the most that fits one portrait sheet while every line stays tall enough to write on.
Can I rename the sections for a different kind of shop?
Yes. The same page works for a hardware store, a pharmacy run or a packing list if you rename the sections.
Does the list save what I write on it?
Only the typed settings are remembered, on your own device. What you write by hand exists only on the paper.
